Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the My Jewish Day app and the myjewishday.com website. By using the service, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who we are
My Jewish Day is an initiative of Onward SpA, a stock corporation (sociedad por acciones) incorporated in Chile. In these terms, "we," "our," or "My Jewish Day" refer to Onward SpA.
2. Minimum age
To use My Jewish Day, you must be 13 years of age or older. This complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent rules in other jurisdictions. If we discover that a child under 13 is using the app, we will delete their information.
3. Nature of the content
My Jewish Day offers Jewish educational, ritual, spiritual, and reflective content. The content is provided in good faith but:
- Does not replace personalized rabbinic guidance. For halakhic decisions specific to your situation, consult a rabbinic authority.
- Is not medical, legal, tax, or professional advice.
- Does not represent a specific denomination (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, etc.). We aim for a neutral tone and, when customs vary, we briefly mention the differences.
4. How your data is stored
The app is 99% local storage: your profile, dates, reflections, Shabbat memory, and progress live on your device. If you uninstall, wipe device data, or lose the device, you lose that information. We have no backup we can restore. We recommend writing down or exporting important data (names, Hebrew dates) if they matter to you.
For details on what is stored in the cloud and how we protect it, see the Privacy Policy.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- My Jewish Day offers a permanent free plan and a Premium subscription plan.
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play depending on your device. Their billing, renewal, and refund policies apply.
- Renewals are automatic unless you cancel before the next period. You can cancel from your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Price may vary by country and currency; Apple and Google adjust the value automatically.
6. Permanent free plan
The free plan includes all features described as "free" in the app and on the website at the time of your first download. We reserve the right to change the free plan's scope in the future, but the data you loaded during onboarding (1 yahrzeit + 1 celebration) will remain free forever even if we change other aspects of the plan.
7. Collective Yahrzeit and shared content
If you choose to upload a name to the Collective Yahrzeit:
- You agree that the name and date will be visible to other app users.
- You confirm you have the right to share it (a family member, or you have authorization to honor them this way).
- You can request its removal at any time by writing to [email protected].
- We reserve the right to moderate or remove content we deem abusive, false, or inappropriate.
8. Intellectual property and copyright
© 2026 Onward SpA. All rights reserved.
All content, code, design, interface, illustrations, animations, icons, photographs, curated texts, translations, modern commentary, table dynamics, information architecture, marketing copy, the "My Jewish Day" / "Mi Día Judío" brand, logos, corporate colors, proprietary typography, and any other creative element of the app and the website are the exclusive property of Onward SpA and are protected by Chilean and international laws on copyright, trademarks, industrial design, and trade secrets (Chile's Law 17,336 on Intellectual Property, the Berne Convention, the WIPO Copyright Treaty, and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions).
Hebrew liturgical texts are in the public domain; the translations, transliterations, modern commentary, edits, selection, and editorial arrangement are original work of Onward SpA unless another source is expressly indicated.
What you may do: use the app for your personal, family, and educational life; share individual screenshots on social media with attribution to "My Jewish Day".
What is expressly forbidden without written authorization:
- Copy, clone, replicate, or reproduce in whole or in part the design, interface, screen architecture, flows, or features of the app or the website.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble the code, or attempt to derive the source code.
- Extract, scrape, or redistribute content (texts, images, illustrations, curated data) by automated or manual means for commercial or competitive use.
- Create derivative works, "inspired apps," white-label versions, templates, or other products based on our design or copy.
- Use the brand, logos, slogans, or visual aesthetic in other products, services, or content.
- Train artificial intelligence models on our content without authorization.
Violation of these rights entitles Onward SpA to pursue all applicable civil, criminal, and administrative actions in Chile and in any other relevant jurisdiction, including injunctions, damages, and DMCA takedown notices on digital platforms.
For licensing, partnerships, or special authorizations: [email protected].
9. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the app to:
- Upload false, offensive, or discriminatory content, or content that harms the memory of real people.
- Compromise the app via reverse engineering, abusive scraping, or attempts to bypass the subscription model.
- Impersonate another person or create fake accounts.
- Engage in any illegal activity under applicable law.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app and site available, but some features depend on internet, location, Apple/Google services, and external providers. We may pause, modify, or discontinue features, giving reasonable notice when the change is significant.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Onward SpA is not liable for: loss of locally stored data, errors in zmanim calculations derived from incorrect coordinates supplied by the user, or indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the app. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months preceding the event.
12. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or close your access if you breach these terms. Suspension does not automatically end your active subscription; you can manage it on the App Store or Google Play.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Chile, without prejudice to the non-waivable rights granted to you as a consumer by the laws of your country of residence.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Significant changes will be announced in-app or by email.
