Frequently asked

About the Hebrew calendar

Does the app have a full Hebrew calendar?

Yes. My Jewish Day shows the Hebrew and Gregorian calendars side by side, with all major and minor Jewish holidays, the weekly parashah, Rosh Chodesh, the Omer count, and halakhic zmanim by your city.

How does it calculate halakhic zmanim?

We use classical halakhic methods (Magen Avraham, Gra, Baal HaTanya) calculated from your GPS location or chosen city. You can pick the opinion you follow in settings.

Does it work in Israel and the diaspora?

Yes. The app detects your location and automatically adjusts dates, zmanim, and observances between Israel and the diaspora (second day of Yom Tov, Tzeit Hakochavim timing, etc.).

Does it alert Roshei Chodesh and minor holidays?

Yes. You receive notifications for Rosh Chodesh, Hanukkah, Purim, Lag BaOmer, Tu B'Av, Tu Bishvat, and all minor holidays with their meaning and customs.

Does it have the Omer count?

Yes. The 49 days between Pesach and Shavuot are counted automatically with the blessing of each night and the sefirah of the day (Chesed shebeChesed, Gevurah shebeChesed, etc.).

The entire Jewish year, at your pace.
